          The owner-managed company FOGTEC was founded in 1997. FOGTEC develops, produces and markets fixed and mobile systems for fire detection and firefighting. Our employees come from 16 countries and are based at six sites. We are active in the following business sectors: rolling stock (Rail Systems), Fixed and mobile systems, Tunnel Systems, ships and oil platforms. Of our products, 80% are produced for export. Our team consists, among others, of engineers in the specialist areas of fire protection, mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electronics, software and chemistry.

          Mr. Dipl. Ing. Heino Pruess has many years experience as advisory board member in many companies. He was Executive Director of stock listed companies for more than 10 years. He specializes in marketing and sales of technologically?complex investment goods. Alongside his position as advisory board member at FOGTEC Brandschutz GmbH, Mr. Pruess is board member and advisory board member of other companies.?

          Advisory Board Member

          Prof. Dr. Ronald P?rner is a senior expert in the railway industry, Professor of Strategic Management at the HTW Berlin and owner of a strategy and marketing consultancy. Between 2007-2015 he held a position as Main Director in the?Verband der Bahnindustrie (VDB) in Berlin. Alongside his position as advisory board member at FOGTEC Brandschutz GmbH, Mr. Prof. Dr. P?rner is part of the advisory board of other companies.?

          Corporate history


          1870

          Founding of F.E. Myers Bro. Co., Ashland / Ohio, USA

          1879

          Founding of Lechler GmbH, Metzingen, Germany

          around 1900

          The company F.E. Myers Bro. Co. experiments for the first time with nozzles, which produce a type of water mist, while at the same time working on various high pressure pumps. The goal of this application is fire protection.

          1930

          Lechler is one of the first companies to produce special nozzles for water mist and registers these for patents. This design principle forms the basis for most water mist nozzles still today.

          1974

          F.E. Myers Bro. Co. founds Myers-Europe GmbH (later KAMAT GmbH) in Essen as its production site for Europe.

          1980

          The German company Herzog is the first company to start selling low pressure water mist systems.

          The Norwegian captain Omar Vestli is the first to experiment with a high pressure pump in order to generate a particularly fine water mist for fighting fires in machine rooms. Subsequently, various companies in Scandinavia and Germany start to develop water mist systems.

          1991

          Lechler and KAMAT jointly develop the first FOGTEC nozzles. Registrations for the first patents follow.

          1995

          Construction of a facility for large scale fire tests using FOGTEC systems. First fire tests for tunnels start.

          1996

          First fire tests for rolling stock.

          1997

          Founding of FOGTEC Brandschutz GmbH and opening of the first representative office in Asia and the Middle East.

          2007

          Representative office opens in India.

          FOGTEC wins the UITP-Award for the most innovative product.

          2011

          FOGTEC is the first fire protection company worldwide to be certified according to IRIS.
